With this project, we wanted to address the challenge of finding tailored educational offers in Germany's educational landscape. Navigating these resources is often difficult for users, who struggle to determine the best educational path for their needs.
We focused on creating an efficient, user-friendly search feature to match users with suitable programs, taking their educational data and individual interests into account. Inspired by dating apps, the BIRD app allows users to swipe through offers for personalized results.
To identify early design issues, we conducted a usability study with five participants from diverse backgrounds. Testing our wireframes provided valuable insights for further improvement of our concept.
Participants were tasked with navigating the search feature to find a degree program and add a note or task.
Our final design aims to transform the daunting task of navigating education into a fun and engaging experience. With three key sections, users can tailor their search based on personal interests and prerequisites, swipe through fitting offers on the results page, and seamlessly organize them into collections while jotting down notes or tasks. Say goodbye to stress and hello to an exciting educational adventure with BIRD!
Throughout this project, I refined my skills in collaboratively developing design systems with fellow designers, ensuring a coherent and unified UI style. Our emphasis was on preserving uniform user interactions, notably through employing consistent swiping motions across the app. Through regular constructive feedback sessions and effective communication, we successfully attained a cohesive prototype.
